Hankerin' for a dedicated piezo platform

I want to build a piezo platform around the JJB or K&K Pure Mini style bridge plate transducer. Not really a big fan of under the saddle piezos (where the quack comes from).  It requires a bit thinner top than your average electric though.

Thinking about this. it maybe could be done. If you used an acoustic styled bridge, and routed it our underneath for the transducer. So the transducer would be between your bridge plate and the guitar top.

Heck, even just attaching it to an archtop style bridge - and not directly under the saddles might be an improvement.

Plenty of room beneath an archtop bridge for three transducers.  Excellent idea, but believe a UST might be more applicable in the absence of a braced, floating top (?).

A strat with a blank pickguard would look really cool to pull piezo duty.  Hmm.

I like the way you're thinking* - it must be done!

*some people would take this as a warning.

Don't let it stop you, but I don't like the look of the start pickguard blank. It's waaaay too much space blank. I'd rather look at a bunch of wood than a piece of plastic with no clear purpose.

Just mocked one up with a pickguard. Looks sweet (neon blue with black pearloid guard)!  Solid colors only. For a clear or burst, I think I might dig no pg better. Hmm. Cool thing is that with the guard, the guitar could be converted to a traditional strat if resale was required.

I've been wanting another guitar or two with the Ghost system (but with pickups), I was playing with the Halo configurator today.  :help:
Warmoth could easily build the first, and I don't know who could build the second (but I wouldn't use Halo).

If you're not familiar with them already and have a hankerin' for an 8 string, you might have a look at the Rondo site. Most of their offerings are a little radical-looking, but the Agile brand is pretty well thought of. I've bought some of their higher-end Les Paul copies and been astounded at the quality. They don't have Ghost systems installed or as an option, but once you have the thing you can always send it somewhere like here and have one installed.

I've had an Agile Intrepid 8 in the past and I currently have two 8 strings (Schecter and Ibanez), I just want that particular build. :dontknow:

This would be hard to resist too.
