Grapite strengthening rods

Has Warmoth ever considered putting graphite rods in their bass necks instead of steel (a-la Fender and ESP) to make their necks lighter? I love my Warmoth Jazz to death but my one and only wish would be that it balanced better on a strap. My Fender Jazz Deluxe V has graphite rods in and it balances perfectly.

Yes, Warmoth tried Graphite rods. They decreased stability and resulted in dead spots (dead sounding notes) on the neck. We also tried aluminum rods with the same dismal consequences. We stay with steel for better tone and strength.
