I haven't owned a solid colored guitar in a long, long time.  I was just digging through the "Misc Guitars" archive and happened upon a Graffiti Yellow SG with some black accents.  I think this color is badass!  Kinda put me in the mood to do up a solid color guitar and let the neck be the center of attention.  Anyone else love this color??  I kinda feel the same way about Alpine White.  :guitarplayer2:

I like the graffiti yellow, too. The SG you saw may have been Updown's build from a couple years ago. There are a LOT more pictures of it here if you're interested. It's really nice piece.

I had an alpine white Strat that I also liked a lot. Recently sold it, as somebody else liked it even more.

Ah, I think I know the SG of which you speak.  To me, Graffiti Yellow, that neon dinosaur green, and alpine white all stand for one thing:  METAL.  I ain't much of a metalhead, when it comes to the sounds I make in my own playing, but a guitar crafted and set-up to gratify a discerning metalhead can be a joy to play. The visuals definitely are part of the experience.

So, in short, Ian sez:  JUST GO FOR IT!

Go for it! Although I'm not sure any other part would be the centre of attention when the body is bright yellow! Not trying to put you off, I used to drive around in this:

Yellow makes all the girls say hello - or something.

I have a Star body currently being made.  I came very close to it being Graffiti Yellow. In fact, it was initially ordered as a basswood body and Graffiti Yellow paint.  But the wood spoke to me overnight, lol. The next day I called and changed the order to swamp ash body with Trans Yellow. I, too, have not got on with a solid-color guitar in ages.  But I think a Graffiti Yellow guitar would look great.

On a side note, to Mr. Bagman67, I do have one solid color Warmoth.  It has EMGs and a Floyd, so it is definitely a metal guitar.  It is Alpine White.  :icon_biggrin:

Hey thats my Yella Terra SG    :icon_biggrin:
And I love it.  :icon_thumright:

There's something about a solid colour.
Gives you the chance for a great looking neck, like ....

Yella is a badass guitar, and tho I haven't heard it plugged in. I bet it lives up to it's name with those Invaders. I have some and they're monsterous.... :party07:

I have always thought that solid colors > exotic tops and crap.

Well, thats' me. Alpine white with black hardware = BEST COMBO EVER. All my guitars from now on will be white with black hardware.  :cool01:
