Hello all,

I am getting bits together for a Mooncaster build and I am at the neck info. I want to use the Gotoh 510UB wrap-around bridge which according to the Gotoh site has a 14" fixed radius. I want my Warmoth neck to have a 12" fret board radius. Basically, will this bridge only work with a 14" radius fret board?? I'm confused...

Thanks in advance!

The difference between a 12" and 14" radius at the bridge is very small. If you can feel it at all, some careful filing of 2 (high and low E) or maybe 4 (E, A, and B, E) of the notches in the saddles will get you where you need to be. Chances are pretty good you won't notice the difference in the first place, so I wouldn't worry about it.

What I would be careful of with that bridge is the underside during installation or when you move the intonation setting...

Those two philips screws retain a spring clip on the top that holds the saddles in place when there's no string tension on them. They protrude slightly from the bottom, and if the bridge height is set low they'll gouge your finish. So, I'd set the mounting posts a little high to start with before mounting the bridge, then when the intonation length is close, start lowering them to get the action right. May not be a problem at all, just a word of warning.
