Well ive bought a jazz bass kit for a university project,
and once the weather gets better im going to trying doing my first finish once i move home for summer,
Now the body i want to pair it with a purpleheart/ebony neck with pearloid blocks.

Any suggestions? done a great deal of thin aerosol coats on warhammer figurines before so i have a fairly good hand with rattle cans,
However i live in england so would need a english supplier if it is rattle can finish due to shipping laws etc

Rattle can nitro is fairly forgiving and easy to use...And just about any kind of wipe on, like tru oil, wipe on poly, danish oil, tung oil...etc. :icon_thumright:

Ah right cool cheers, well got a good supplier of various different rattle can nitros, along with the primer and clear coats,
Would use the clear bare wood one but the body isnt nice enough  :laughing7:

Sealer is fine to seal things from soaking into the wood.  Grain filler levels all the grain, which will be evident as soon as you apply the finish.  If you want a smooth, non grainy finish, then grain fill... and fill... and fill.  All prep work, and the most important part!

Think it was grain filled then sanding sealed, as its really really smooth already. that mean it is grain filled?  :dontknow:

not necessarily, it could have just been sanded smooth with fine sandpaper...
