In the case of Dimebag, he's got... some old girl he used to boink sometimes who has decided her destiny is to work full-time to ensure the world never loses sight of Dimebag's incredible genius-laden squeaks and howls... oh, and NOT to work at some lesser type of employment.

When Dimebag started no one else played like him, just because you don't like it doesn't mean you should rag on someone for being original. I am not a big fan of him, but I can still respect what he has done.

You may have misunderstood. He wasn't ragging on Dimebag so much as his opportunistic girlfriend. Although, Stubby plays Telecasters and pedal steel guitars, so he may be a little less than impressed with Dimebag's work product. Besides, to be fair, it's more than a little difficult to have much respect for someone who names themselves after illicit drug packaging. I mean, you'd have a tough time following the advice of Dr. Gonorrhea George, right?

Haha yes very true, and yes if he wasn't shot on stage there probably wouldn't be much talk of him, for example I wouldn't have to listen to every non-musically educated person rattle on about how great Kurt Cobain was if he never killed himself/murdered w/e really happened.

Yeah I am actually kind of surprised this thread didn't get locked down a couple pages ago, it hasn't been about the actual topic for quite some time. Then again it was kind of ridiculous from the start.

Interesting videos. There's nowhere that they do a glued lap joint for the neck/body join though. They all use types of joints that are meant for gluing. Because they're clever luthiers, and they understand woodwork.

Using glue for neck joints designed to be glued together is of course an option. Then folks will get into discussions about hide glue versus titebond. You could even go for a neck thru design and glue the sides on.

Also glue is perfectly valid in acoustic and classical guitar manufacture.

But I think most here have pointed out that using glue for a neck pocket designed to be bolted on isn't a good option or idea which is what the original point of this thread was, or at least I think it was...

Have you found a way to do so ?
