I have decided on my next build (we won't talk about how many times I've said this, or the fact that i just ordered my vip...)

It's going to be the Ghost Caster. There's one out there similar to this. A Tele body of mahogany, with a spruce top and a dark wood accent line, roasted maple Warmoth gibson scale neck with ebony fingerboard and diamond pearloid inlays. There will be a black Gotoh Tele humbucker bridge with ghost saddles, an acoustiphonic preamp, seymour duncan '59/Jazz pickups, master mag volume & tone, three way toggle, piezo volume (push pull dark/mid switch) and a mag/mix/piezo mini toggle.

I don't know when I'll be able to do it, but i have it saved and it's definitely my next build.
But before that happens, i have to finish my VIP, and then I'm saving for a new rig (going digital is a scary thought, but I'm biting the bullet and getting a Line 6 Helix Rack)

There was a build pretty similar to this a while back. A start with no pickups, just the piezo in the saddles. The guy posted a sound file and it sounded awesome.

And don't worry about planning too far ahead, I'm up to ten or so now...I have a word document with my favorites outlined.

I have folders on my desktop with screenshots of shopping carts to plan out builds...  :laughing7:

And did you really thingk you'd get away without one of my photoshop mockups?  :laughing7:

I made a few little changes, like the body is now chambered with an f-hole, and the top is quilt maple with a black-clear burst. the neck is now mahogany, with ebony board and block inlays, and cream binding.

Forum member Deajo has made several beautiful Teles with piezo systems - you might want to mine those for ideas.  I know I have.  I'd love to do a peizo build - not to get imitation acoustics sounds, so much as blending the piezo with magnetic pickups for different textures and controllable feedback.  I think I read that Zappa did a bit of that.

Here's a link to a Deajo build:

You might want to consider the Scartozi bridge - Dangerous6 makes them.  From what I've read, they work well with piezo systems, and from what I've seen, they look great on Teles!
