For the moment, I am going to name this the "Blueberry" bass.  This was purchased near the end of the 30th Anniversary Sale.

I was going to name it "Bluebinga" since it will have a Bubinga neck, but apparently I was outvoted 2-1 by the twins.

I like how the Alder grain looks under a glossy blue finish.  The effect is subtle, and in dark light the body looks *almost* black.  In bright light, the grain really shows nicely.  I don't think my photos quite show that effect, but that's as good as I can do at the moment.  It's not quite as striking as Swamp Ash but that's fine with me.

Hardware on the bass will be all chrome, with a Kahler 5-string adjustable bridge.  The neck is all Bubinga (except for a few laminate stripes of Bloodwood) and it has a really nice contrast.  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10220.0

After I took these pictures, I mounted the hardware, attached the neck, and strung it up.  It sounds really sweet.  More pics coming soon.

That's the exact color of my strat, which was my first electric guitar. It got a complete overhaul this year with Warmoth parts, new maple/maple neck etc. The body is now the only 'original' part on the whole guitar. It's a great color!

Its gonna be a blue Gecko yer makin'
So when that blue Gecko starts shakin'
They'll say you were alright
With that Jazz Bass in white
But now you're rockin'... with that blue Gecko

Very nice. That's a sweet color.
What kind of pup and electronics do you have in mind?

Right now it has a single Bartolini dual-coil "classic bass" pickup.  However I will be testing several other pickups over time, to see which sounds best in the "sweet spot".

Electronics will consist of a passive volume and tone control.  I may also put in a passive midrange cut, but I'm not sure I will need it yet.

Chrome hardware will look great on this.

And indeed it does.  Moving to the "Work in Progress" forum:  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10816.0

You've got more Geckos than the freaking pet store I worked at until I left a lid open and a bunch of $80 geckos escaped.
