For the moment, I am going to name this the "Blueberry" bass. This was purchased near the end of the 30th Anniversary Sale.
I was going to name it "Bluebinga" since it will have a Bubinga neck, but apparently I was outvoted 2-1 by the twins.
I like how the Alder grain looks under a glossy blue finish. The effect is subtle, and in dark light the body looks *almost* black. In bright light, the grain really shows nicely. I don't think my photos quite show that effect, but that's as good as I can do at the moment. It's not quite as striking as Swamp Ash but that's fine with me.
Hardware on the bass will be all chrome, with a Kahler 5-string adjustable bridge. The neck is all Bubinga (except for a few laminate stripes of Bloodwood) and it has a really nice contrast. http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10220.0
After I took these pictures, I mounted the hardware, attached the neck, and strung it up. It sounds really sweet. More pics coming soon.
