But back to GAS...

Both of these guitars beg the question: why put pickguards on such pretty tops?  :icon_scratch:

I would like to have seen these with rear routs and side jacks...

I'd tend to agree. But Wyliee (or somebody from Warmoth) just said yesterday or the day before that the showcase is definitely not a dumping ground for mistakes, rejects, returns, cancellations, etc. It's deliberately seeded with what they think will sell. They've been making thousands of these things every year for 30+ years now, so I imagine they have a substantial database to draw conclusions from about what sells.

In the short time I've been on this forum, I've been surprised at how many people have openly admitted they aren't very impressed with figured tops. I've always thought they were as desirable as big tits. So, maybe some people think too much of a Good Thing is simply too much. Figured is nice, but be reasonable about it, they seem to say by putting a pickguard over it. Kinda like a Victoria's Secret catalog model vs. a Hustler Trailer Trash centerfold <grin>

Ya, but who's the better option for getting laid, the Victoria Secret model, or the Hustler (trailer trash) debatable phrase, I've seen a lot of chics in Hustler that deff weren't trailer trash... :icon_biggrin:

You're right, I shouldn't assume that just because a woman finally realizes her only talent is the ability to take her clothes off that she's trailer trash. She might be well on her way to a doctorate in particle physics and have a great deal of self-esteem. Probably not needy at all, either, and easier to take care of than a pet rock with an extended warranty. Yeah. That's the ticket. Educated and maintenance-free. My angel is a centerfold <grin>

To be fair, one of the most famous Victoria's secret Models has her Bachelors in Marine Biology.

And was a semi-Pro surfer before she "retired" to modeling.

At least thats what her Wiki page said when I read it.

I think you'll find most do like the figures tops, as evident with all of the builds with them.  The minority has just been vocal.

The reason so many figured tops end up pickguarded is because there is often a flaw in the area that gets routed away and/orcovered. At least that's the explanation we usually get, and I believe it.

My heritage on both sides of the family is British, Irish and Scots so none taken!  But couldn't you have used a slightly smaller flag image?
