GAS Alert!!!!

My point of view is that F holes are left overs from the days of no or low power amps. They were used for the same reason as the sound holes on acoustics, sound projection and increased volume. They can also make a guitar seem more alive when playing. These days they are more useful for looks and sound interaction between the guitar and amp.

Personally I don't like them unless they are on a big body jazz guitar.

That's exactly right. And I don't like them either unless they serve a purpose.

The ones I've heard live sound awesome too.  They do however cost an arm and a leg new, and lose their value fast.  If these things aren't around forever, IMO, these have the makings of a future classic.  A one that got away, should've bought it when I had the chance or a remember when they still made those comment might be heard 25 years from now.

I played one once through a trip rectifier, cranked. It sounded surprisingly great.  :icon_thumright:

They are actually 2 different brands of guitars, one on top is a Crafter and bottom is a Taylor...

Are Crafters any good? I always thought they were just a cheapo brand, because that's where they always seem to be in music stores (right next to the Arias and the Samicks), but I have been known to be wrong from time to time.  :laughing7:

They're just like most other makers, they have high end USA stuff and less expensive overseas stuff...

I have a crafter acoustic and it plays great. It feels almost like an electric with a low action. It is a good quality guitar with abalone inlays and binding and all.

This one is pretty sweet....And not a bad price...$599, they do have some that are upwards of 2G's...

Both knobs and switches are ugly... specially on the Taylor, the guy that decided to put them there should have ten punchs on his face as punishment...

So, anyone post this one yet...

No, and there's a good reason why:  it's hideous.  And by hideous, of course, I mean, it makes me drool covetously.  Here's the image so the rest of you can register your disgust.

What is that big hole right in the area of where a couple of smaller holes should be?  And why there some wood missing in between the pickup routings?

yeah, i saw that thing in the RSS feed yesterday and said some things that this forum would censor and change to "ice cream"

What the heck is up with "ice cream"? :tard: Joseph also mentioned it, and made fun of me :tard: Someone, please, let me in on this :icon_scratch:

And, back on topic, I hate this thread, but I also love it :tard: Someday, i'm going to break, and let all the GAS loose :help:, and my budget just can't take that :dontknow:
