Forced myself to kickstart 3 paintings tribute guitar

Bridge pickup “up” routing on “rock wood “ , get it as deep as possible, penetrated to other side a bit , need pitching and touch up .

Made Monterey Pop Festival guitar pattern into 3D reliefs , not sure about colour yet , testing from left to right: metallic black / red copper / light gold/ rich gold / silvers

I like the larger light colored heart and scroll work one. Not sure about the color of the heart though. :dontknow:

As it is a 60s psychedelic art , I was thinking about using glitter in the red and blue part of original Monterey Pop Festival guitar pattern , but it seems standard out too much  :icon_scratch:

I like the lighter one with the heart, also. I would like to see something other than the glitter, also.

I try order some gold/ copper leaf and other blue / red metallic leaf , pearl  finish do more testing.

Glue the “lion head “ to guitar body

Fill up the gap

Final fit up and all the hole and recessed rout take up longer time than sculpture , as every time cut a bit of wood , need put on some thin glues there to prevent wood split , and waiting for drying then sanding.

Set the knobs and pickup cover same base silver colour.

Final touch up to unification colour. add more hight light and shadow.

burnt chrome bridge , so the gold colour is not so blink . Matches with Lion Rock .

Ready for wiring.

Out of curiosity, after set up the neck angle and bridge hight , I put on the maple neck for Jimi guitar , try it out how it sounded, but find that maple neck a bite too bright for this guitar’s pickup, should be go back to koa neck on finial build .
