Vintage amber from Stewmac, the lighting is bad, but gonna try to do the 1959 V color, pretty close....

after 7 or 8 coat's of try oil, filled most of the grain but wanted some to come through... Using a piece of cotton rag inside of a coffee filter to apply.

The coffee filter trick is a good one you don't hear mentioned very often.

I'm really digging this build. There are so many Strats and Teles built here that anything from the other side of the aisle is a welcome sight to my eyes. I had my eye on that particular body for quite awhile. W doesn't make a lot of V bodies bookmatched to run the grain with the shape of the body. They're usually like all the other bodies, parallel to the neck.

I'm glad you're making it a 59 replica V. Going with the black pickguard? Keep up the great work and keep feeding us pictures!

I'm waiting on some parts, I know gold hardware is a no no but I wan the worn look. It won't be an exact replica, I'm not doing the string thru body thing. Gonna do a regular bridge. I'm also putting on a white pick guard as most of the pics I see are white from that time period. Pickups ar e going to be SD Pearly Gates, gold with covers.

All done but the truss rod cover... sounds and plays like a dream!
