Flat version of the regal

maybe revisit something like the regal but flat.  Or does that make it too much like a lp junior?  Maybe do it in a 7/8ths size?

You say Junior like it's a bad thing, I love Juniors and Specials.  Been waiting for the flat top Regal version, I definitely prefer singlecut but would love to see a DC too.

Nothing wrong with flat. I had a '59 Junior that smoked, a '52 Tele that was fantastic, and I see Gibson is bringing back THE PAUL for its 40th Anniversary. It's all walnut and basically flat (some bevels). Contoured is cool, carved top stuff rules, and flat is hip. As long as it has 6 strings, I think we're good.

Weird part is, you can buy an all-original for cheaper...complete with t-top pickups.  Funny that t-tops are becoming retro-popular when they were considered junk and ditched for DiMarzios in the 70s.  Just be careful that some years are real walnut, others are not but have a "walnut" finish.

Gibson only marketed all walnut The Pauls for a short while. Then they made them from mahogany, sold as The Paul II, and eventually as Firebrand's (they had the Gibson logo branded on the peghead). Most were good guitars that served their owners well.
