I agree about the pickup rings, but the other reason the storm trooper guitar needs rings is that he got a standard strat route, and put an EMG in it. There's a LOT of gap, and the white finish really shows it up - normally it sits in a dark hole.
Brilliant, I love it. I especially like the 3D effect of the carving on the end of the headstock, where the top and the bottom of the design aren't identical, and the wood in between them is shaped in a curve, rather than a straight line. When you look at it from the front you see the lighter wood curving down from the top to meet the larger bottom. How did you communicate that sculpting to Warmoth?
I sent them a detailed sketch showing what I wanted from a couple of different angles, Ken Warmoth approved the design to make sure it was an original design and not stepping into copyrighted issues.
