Hey everybody,

since many of you have been so kind and helpful on my other thread - concerning PU's - now it's time for other hardware to talk about.
I am planning on building a Tele Deluxe with a fixed bridge.

I was thinking about the Schaller 475. But I am not quite sure if that will look good on that body.
Does anyone of you have any idea what could be the best for that build?

I don't really want a trem-bridge, since I don't want to use trem-arm anyway. I know Eric Clapton has a "fixed" trem brige on his signature model.
What about the Gotoh Humbucker Tele Bridge?

I'll be glad to read about any suggestions you make.

The best bridge for a tele deluxe is a vintage flatmount hardtail bridge. It is simple, inexpensive, comfortable, and it looks good, and it is the original bridge for that body style. I suggest you get the "narrow mount" type that warmoth sells.
Two other possibilities are the American standard flatmount hardtail bridge from Fender, or the Gotoh flatmount hardtail bridge from stew mac.

Hey tfarney,

are you talking about this one??

Strat® Flat Mount Bridge, Humbucker Spacing, Black
To use this bridge on a vintage spec body, the string through body holes must be enlarged from 1/8" to 3/16" (4.7mm) to allow the strings access to the narrower string holes in the base plate.

That's as well one I was thinking about. Could look soooooo neat, with the body I wanna build. And the neck mmmmmhhhhhh.

Is that something easy to do and what about the size of the string ferrules? Is there such size?
I would really like to make it a "perfect build" for me. I have such nice plans - but the money  :-\ :-\ :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
But I bet that's always a problem with everybody....... :icon_biggrin:

Hello tfarney,

is it complicated to enlarge the string through holes even though the body has a paint on it already?
And how about the string ferrules, do they exist in such width.

Adios  JULIA
