First build: Warmoth Bass6

I'm back y'all*!

So now that the weather is cooling off here in Ohio and all the outdoor projects are wrapped up, I finally have time to get back on the Bass VI bandwagon.  One of the reasons the project stalled is that the cavity for the switches is just a bit too big for the switches themselves to sit down in properly.  Since I've never done this before and I don't want to go about ruining my new bass body, what's the usual method for knocking back what I assume is just some lipping of the finish?

*I have no idea why people from Ohio talk like they're from the deep South, but there it is.
