After a five-month wait, my custom-ordered neck finally arrived, and I was able to complete my 2nd build. I actually began my 2nd build first, but due to the wait on the neck, I completed it later.

Build #1:

Soloist body, with ~20 coats of Tru-Oil
Mighty-Mite neck (birdseye maple, jumbo frets, abalone dot inlays)
Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups
G&L PTB wiring
Gotoh tuners
Gotoh Narrow-spaced tremolo

Those are both lovely guitars.  I do love those G&L single coil pickups.  Did you pull those from another guitar, or buy them in the aftermarket from someone else who did?  I have never seen G&L pickups available for sale new.

Also, if you don't mind, can you describe what the G&L PTB wiring gets you?

Thanks for sharing.

I bought the G&L pickups new via G&L's web store. I also used their output jacks and potentiometers.

As for the PTB wiring, it stands for Passive Treble & Bass. This was developed by Leo Fender at G&L and used on models such as the Legacy. It's supposed to give more tone shaping opportunities than a standard Strat.

In stock Strat wiring, both tone pots are configured as low pass filters, and provide the typical treble cut feature, but they each affect different switch positions. In contrast, with the PTB system, both tone controls function as "master" tone controls, but one provides a treble cut, and the other a bass cut.
