Finally chose the body...now what pickguard?

I can't imaging my flame top Strat without it's pearloid guard, and I think the gold hardware looks better with the tobacco bust than chrome would.  I wonder if the distaste for gold hardware is related to the popularity of white gold and platinum jewelry over the past decade.

I usually associate gold with pimps, so it's never really been my thing.  But on certain occasions, it's the right thing to use.
