Exotic Explorer Choices?

I notice on the neck-building page for explorer (and Jackson) necks that exotic woods are not a listed option. I know W has said that there have been issues with exotics in these styles, but are there any exotic options that people know of?

Exotic wood tends to be more expensive and there's lower demand for Explorer and Jackson necks.  It's been more an issue with supply and demand.  You might email in and see what neck blanks are available.  Supply will be limited.

you can usually get ahold of the guys in the custom shop and get just about anything you want made. But it'll cost ya......$$$$$$

What issues? Except the headstock why an Explorer neck is different from a LP neck?
