Electronics options

So the parts are ordered, the hardware is on its way, too... my warmoth strat will be a beautiful, tobacco burst, cream bound, quilt topped stunner.

Now, i'm on to the electronics options...

Pickups - Neck: Fralin Vintage Hot Middle: Fralin Vintage Hot Bridge: Duncan S-55 Seth Lover

Guitar routed for single tone and single volume with a standrad strat switch slot.

So with two knob holes, and a five-way switch, what are my wiring options?

You most likely want to use this diagram:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=3s_1v_1t_5w

But with that pickup setup I'd go a 500K vol pot, 250K tone and a .022 cap to start....

with a five-way switch, where am i going wrong with the following?
POSITION 1 - BRIDGE (HUMBUCKER) ONLY
POSITION 2 -BRIDGE (HB)+ MIDDLE
POSITION 3 - NECK ONLY
POSITION 4 - NECK + MIDDLE
POSITION 5 - NECK (VINTAGE HOT) ONLY

Push/Pull on VOL knob to turn bridge to single coil
Push/Pull on TONE knob to take bridge HB out of phase

Or is un-phasing and single-coiling the HB redundant... should i even bother?
or is a simple 5-way as above enough?
Should I configure the 5-way differently from above?

???

position 3 and 5: neck only.

change 3 to the middle only, and ad a toggle to turn the neck on regardless of what position you're in
then you can get every combo availible, except for series, but keep it simple  :laughing7:

just for kicks, i haven't heard an out of phase guitar, but heres a clip of a bass

series in phase

series out of phase
http://www.guitar-mod.com/music/j_phase.wav

it sounds a lot thinner, but really cool effect for bass.

Cool sound on the out of phase!
I've been reading around and see some reference to out of phase humbucker pickups on certain custom setups... i think the sound is pretty neat, but still looking (listening) into it.

I'm still toying around with ideas, since the parts won't be ready for a few weeks I have time to mull it over...
1-bridge humbucker 2-bridge tapped+middle 3-middle 4-middle+neck 5-neck

push/pull on volume for hb->single coil OR humbucker activation in any position
push/pull on tone for hum out of phase

hmmmm... a lot of options. I'm seriously leaning towards the out of phase option...which leaves the question of which is more valuable:
a) humbucking -> single coil
b) humbucker on in any position

still eager to hear more about electronics options and the phasing question...

yes, do them both, get a mini toggle, or another tone with a push/pull.
if its to hard to decide, try them both and go with the one you like more, or go with both.
ive been in this boat, but i got my setup down to a science (in my head of course)
