I'm probably the closest thing the forum has to an Earvana fanboy. But
1) The longer the scale length, the less the need.
2) Earvana is a great idea, but it's a one size fits all solution. More specifically, your string gauges and scale length may require more or less compensation per string. As long as you have a plain G though, it should at least be a nudge in the right direction.
3) It's plastic - as long as that's ok with you, have at it.
4) As everyone else has pointed out and will surely do so again at every opportunity, you're chasing a small difference that may or may not be noticed on a galloping horse. (Whether it has a name or not).
