Dumb switch question

Cause I couldn't find an answer easily~

How do I use it as an on/off for a pickup?  I wanted to wire it on the hot lead as a disconnect.  There are 6 posts; 3 on either side, though you can't easily see that.

there are two poles, 3 post on one side, 3 on the other. hook the hot of the pup to one of center 2 posts and the output to the volume/tone to one of the outer posts on the same pole. when the switch is slid towards that post it will be ON. and when it is slid towards the open post it will be off

Ty for the help, it all came out awesome except that I somehow wired the 3-way switch backwards and so that the middle position doesn't work.  These on/off switches and grounding all came out awesome.
