Dull sounding D string on Floyd Rose

Hi all
When i restring my Warmoth Strat with floyd rose  with new strings, the D string sounds dull not full sounding.
The Floyd is a schaller floyd rose But the locking nut is an original Floyd,would that make a difference.

You could have a dead string from the box.  Make sure you press the strings down just where they exit the saddles to make sure they are fully seated.  This makes a big diff in tuning stability and strength of tone on my Gotoh 1996T and Schaller Lockmeister.
