This is indeed an amazing piece

but 450$ for a flat-top laminate??? Isn't that a little too much? This is normal carved top laminate pricing...
(And MOST IMPORTANTLY when will we see VIP DLs??????)  :)
 
Have you checked availability or pricing of high grade quilt lately?  Exhibition quality is in very short supply.

Go buy a Stihl chain saw. Go to maple forest. Start cutting down trees and see how many have 5A quilt figuring.
 
Is it possible to get a DL on a soloist body? Do you have to have binding for a DL.
Sorry I'm pretty clueless about double lams, I'm pretty clueless about most things.
You've probably noticed.

Well. Maybe not. Regardless, stuff's 'spensive these days. There are lots of nice quilts going up on the showcase without the u-pick upcharge. Just keep checking those out.
 
why not use sycamore? a LOT of that stuff is available, same stuff as maple, but with a british name.
