Depth of Curved Top Tele control pot holes?

Does anyone how deep the control pot holes are on a Curved Top Hollow Tele? Is the area around the holes routed thinner from the back of the curved top? A body is being built, and I am hoping to start on the electronics before it arrives. I would like to know what size pot shafts are needed, and if the area around the holes needs to be recessed to make the pots fit.

The holes will be in the "CT Tele 3 Control" configuration. There will be a blend pot instead of a three-way switch. The plan is to go with mini pots, to make it easier to insert the circuit through the f-hole. The only blend pots I have seen have the short shafts.

A Photoshop mockup of the guitar is attached. It will be interesting to see how closely the mockup resembles the actual guitar.

It will look purrty! Hope you take lots of pics! ;)

You need the long pots for all rear routed Warmoths... my telecaster didn't work with short pots, discovered it the hard way...

With a carved top Tele you won’t need to go through the f-hole, since there’s a big hole for all electronics accessible from the back:

You might want to get in touch ASAP with Warmoth. I'm 99.9999999999% sure there's no such thing as "closed back."

For what it's worth, the body order resulted from a conversation with a Warmoth rep. I asked for a closed back, Warmoth agreed and made me aware of the challenges involved. Although it's not easy to install electronics through an f-hole, I prefer the cleaner look of not having a rear route control cover.

The curved-top Tele body came in. The top is about 0.3" thick around the pot holes. It needs to be no more than about 0.15" thick for standard shaft length pots to fit. Long-shaft pots don't fit either, because there's not enough vertical clearance. I had to countersink the holes from the inside in order to get short-shaft pots to fit. Details can be found in the Koa Tele post in "A Work in Progress". Anyone considering a closed-back on a Warmoth body with f-holes, you have been warned!
