Brand new JW Van Guitarworks "S" guitar built to my specs. Nitrocellulose silverburst finish; all maple satin nitro finished neck with flame figure and 12" radius; Lollar Vintage Blackface pickups; Hipshot tremolo and Hipshot locking tuners; tusq nut. Guitar has gotten a complete pro setup from John Wescott of North Hollywood. It plays great and sounds absolutely killer with those Lollar pickups.

I'm selling it because I'm used to the Warmoth standard thin neck profile and this is probably more like a 59 round back. Neck is 1-11/16" wide at nut. This is a complete custom that I'm selling cheaper than a similarly equipped Warmoth guitar would cost you. Asking $1200 not including shipping, which will be at my cost. Hardshell case is included in price.

EDIT: Price lowered to $1150 and I'll include shipping with that in the lower 48.

This guitar does look nice but have you thought about having the neck re profiled closer to the standard thin as an alternate to selling ?

No, I haven't thought of that. I think not, though - for one thing that sounds like it would be kind of expensive. And another, maybe more important reason: the neck, while a little fatter than I like, is perfect for someone who likes a bit of a rounder profile. I wouldn't want to risk ruining a perfect neck.

I would think so, too. That kind of work is uncommon (read: expensive), plus you'd have to refinish the thing.

OK, I see the reasoning, just putting it there as an alternative. And it would probably be expensive to pay someone to do as mentioned.

I am sure you will find a buyer.

Or maybe, Mr. P., you could swap out the neck with an appropriately profiled Warmoth?  Thing about custom goods is they often bring a better return when you part them out.  If you like the body and electronics, you could do worse than keeping that part of the equation.

Thanks for the thought B'man. If the guitar doesn't sell, I'd rather just keep it as is and try to get used to the neck. The whole package seems to be greater than the sum of it's parts. The guitar came together beautifully, and I just don't want to mess with it. To replace it I'd probably do another Warmoth Strat or Soloist build with 3 single coils. I don't think I'd ever find another luthier built custom for anywhere near this price.
