Custom Soloist body

Here is the body I ordered, I had them rout a tele neck pickup slot for that wicked tone! We shall call her the ''Firedbud''? Haha some sweet leaf inlays would be wicked! Gotta save up them buckaroos to get this thing finished, I may have to start a warmoth donation bucket if I get too desperate... :rock-on:

I actually cant remember what the finish is, it did come out nice with the swamp ash though! If only I had the schillings for a neck! Im a broke fella right now so it may be a minute :dontknow:

That's a sharp body! I'm a big fan of the Soloist design.

Normally, I'd never recommend a Maple/Maple neck. But, in this case, I'm not sure what else would work aesthically. That would probably be the best, if you can stand to have a finish on your fretboard. Close to that, I'd consider an Afra/Afra or Canary/Canary neck. They'd both behave much like Maple, would match the body finish, and not require a finish. Luckily, all three of those choices aren't highly expensive parts.

Yeah, Jet black Ebony goes with anything, and is one of my all-time favorite fretboards. Can't go wrong, no matter what. But, this body is sorta dark, so I thought we'd broaden my horizons a bit on his dime <grin>

You gotta agree - on that body? Maple neck? Sex.

On a side note, I can't believe I misspelled "aesthetically". If one didn't know any better, one might think I went to public schools.

I went to public schools, when I went at all.  Except when I was educated in the cult* (which was far less rigorous on the 3 R's than public school).  And I am one of the better spellers I know.  My thinking is this:  Folks can spell, or they can't.  It boils down to a kind of pattern-recognition-type intelligence, coupled with rapid access to memory about exceptions to the patterns. I know I have such skills.  But I sure as shootin' can't sing while I play without screwing up both the singing and the playing.  Everyone's got strong suits. 


I also learned long ago that you cannot have a productive conversation on the interwebs if you correct spelling - unless the conversation is "I think I misspelled that, can you help me?"


*As my Army drill sergeant was fond of saying, "I sh!t you not."
