Custom Pickguard - of sorts.

On my current build, I've been thinking about overlaying some black and white photography over the pickguard. Photography is one of my other big hobbies, and I thought that using some photo work on my guitar would give it a personal touch.
Has anybody attempted this before?

I figured I'd use a glue of sorts to attach the photo to the pickguard then use a clear-coat of some sort over it. I generally don't put much wear on the pickguard so I'm not too worried about scratches.

I've kinda thought about that as well. Any recommendations on custom pickguard makers? I'm a lefty, so it'll be a funky order for sure. haha.

i got a clear pickguard made by wdmusic a while ago. it was for an old SG i had at the time. it worked out pretty well! i had the same idea, and put a picture a friend photoshopped together for me under it. my only problem was that i really should have laminated the picture; my sweat and just months of use ended up smudging the picture and making it look pretty sloppy. was still pretty cool for a while though!
