Hey folks,
Some of you may remember the Warmoth / Fender XII that I put together a few years ago. This instrument was custom painted by my bass player, and it was and remains a stunning instrument:
At the same time I got the parts together for a Jazz Bass on her request. The plan was she was going to paint that one up as well to suit herself when she had the time.
Well now she has time. Up until now she has been playing it with just a coat of sealer on it:
Looks kinda cool like that - in a hippie I-stripped-off-the-original-finish-to-get-back-to-nature kinda way. But she's gonna paint it. Here's the before shot:
I took it all apart last night and discovered a few interesting things. The neck is a very old (as in 20 years) Warmoth neck:
has the old logo and the square fingerboard. It also has great flame!
and here's the body - all ready for her to do her thing:
