Cream or parchment pickguard?

I've got the Warmoth cream binding on a body and I'm looking for the pickguard material which will match it most closely.  Cream seems like the obvious answer, but looking at the pickguard builder, the cream color seems awfully dark in color.  Does anyone have experience trying to match the binding color?

"Match" is an ambiguous term on the color wheel. Brown matches green, where blue doesn't. The best you can hope for is complementary tones, and cream is the one to grab if that's what color your binding is. On the other hand, white matches anything, since it includes all colors, as does black since it's the absence of color. Neither can clash with anything.

I would call Warmoth and ask them how well the cream pickguard matches the cream binding.  They have all of that stuff there, so they could look at it in real life and tell you.  It is very hard to tell what anything really looks like color-wise on the computer.

Thanks, both good advice.  I'm leaning toward a lighter color on the pickguard so I pulled the trigger on parchment.
