Cherry tele project...

Check it out, I borrowed Tonar's idea and got some pegboard and hangers to make a drying rack. Body has two coats of Deft semi-gloss, and neck is awaiting 4th and final coat of Deft satin. I'm gonna do final coat on neck tomorrow then probably do a 3rd coat of semi this weekend on the body...Bottom pic is right after I did a 400 grit sanding after the 3rd coat was dry...

Maybe, but I'm a non-conformist left over from the hair metal era of the 80's. And I'm a pointy headstock kinda guy.... arty07:

Nothing bad on it, in deed a 3 piece is more stable than an one piece...

Yip, actually 4 piece. Main neck part is 3 piece, and the headstock is the 4th piece...Makes for a stronger neck...

3  piece necks are usually typical only on the woods that aren't figured woods. Birdeye maple, flame maple, and most of the exotics are one piece, cause they are usually figured or have a stright grain pattern. Mahogany, plain maple are usually going to be 3 piece. I would assume that the headstock would also determine the constuction type, whether it's angled or straight...

I loved my Norton in my LP, but it really came alive in my Spalt Soloist...and that is just with my lame set up.  I take it to the luthier tomorrow.  :icon_thumright:  Its got a really nasty crunch tone, and a brown sound with high gain.  Pinches are a dime a dozen.

Opppps, got my tele's mixed up....The Norton's are going to be in the spalt. I got the Super 3 and the Evo for the cherry.....my bad.. :doh:

Thanks man, the body is made from cherry wood, so ya it's still cherry. It's not going to be stained, I'm just shooting it in clear semi-gloss.I was going to stain it but I like it just the way it is...

I think it is going to be killer like that.

BTW, you gotta let me know what you think about the Super 3.  I've heard great things about that pup from the DiMarzio board.  I might drop one in my future VIP build.
