Well its almost done. I was waiting for a new project to get milled and I saw this body and neck on the showcase. I wanted to see what I could do with the cheapest body and neck I could buy. Poplar top route 129.00 maple neck with discoloration on peghead, ebony board, 135.00. I bought them and a couple of days later was wondering what the hell I had been thinking. Must of had a brain fart. Oh well. Much to my surprise, The body was Flamed! AND The discoloration turned out to be spa;ting on the face but no where else. Also quite a bit of flame. As the project progressed, I was liking it more and more. Instead of using all those used parts I've collected over the years , I gave it the good quality new parts. I can't wait to see what it sounds like. I'll post videos in a few days. Pretty cool huh?

very nice and congrats, however, I'm a bit iffy on the pickguard, I think it takes away from the wonderful flame on the body, i'd go with cream or black personally to show off whatcha got!

I vote creme pg.

+1, that body looks way too good to be stuck with that thing. Really nice finish, did you do it yourself? And what's the hardware?

Both great catches there! But seriously, that guard does really distract from the beauteous woods you got there.

Nice work! That finish looks a mile deep. I also dislike your PG choice - Black, white, or tort would all be preferable.

One man's "discoloration" is another man's "figuring".... I've seen figured wood that looks nasty to me, and discolored wood that looks great. That there's a good 'un. :cool01:

I think that poplar looks good, I like both the pickguards

I've thought about buying the cheapest Body neck and some cheaper quality hardware for a build, I bet overall it would still be a good Warmoth guitar

The bridge is a fender clone but good quality. I've not had good luck with cheap tuners. I used Schaller mini lockers. Warmoths price is better than anybody else I could find.Schaller strap locks also. The pickups and controls should be the best you can afford(cts,crl,etc.). I used lace sensor silver, blue, red pickups and changed the covers to some brass/gold plated ones I got from lace a while back.

Proof, once again - it doesn't take a fortune to build an incredible guitar/bass

Hi. I did a couple of videos. I was under the spell of Mr. Remy Martin so probably doesn't sound as good as I thought

Hey again great stuff. I like your vids too. Do you have a pic of the original body before finishing by chance?
