F'ing awesome.  That neck is something to behold.  Outstanding job.

How do you like the Hot Rails?
What bridge is that?  Tremolo?

Again, killer job!

Thanks, Love the Hot Rails...used push/pull pots and wired for coil splitting. That's a Stets Bar Pro II trem...so far I like the Stets Bar. No special routing or drilling required to mount the trem unit :icon_thumright:

Beautiful work.  You'll be the only kid on your block with one like that, for sure!

That neck comes alive on the guitar. Cool vision carried out nicely.
Thanks, I'm pleased with neck and body look...but wish i could have started the knot work at the twelfth fret. The fret markers just wouldn't fit into the pattern on that fret. Better planning next time :icon_scratch:

Thank, Would be easy to spot on Craig's list if stolen for sure. Don't need a serial number looking like that :icon_biggrin:

That has turned out well. So I am not apologising again for suggesting you filled those patterns in the board.

Overall I like it. If you want me, to be honest, I am not so keen on the UMP plates behind the Hipshot tuners. Yes, I have done it myself when they were first introduced but to me, it always had an unfinished look on the neck I used them on and I have since abandoned them.

I really like the cross on the neckplate. It reminds me of where I grew up where we had lots of these things around the area.

That's a pretty dark way to look at it, but it's essentially true. No denying identifying marks like that. One of a kind, and well-done.

Your suggestion led to me gaining new skills and knowledge so the extra work improved me. I am seriously in your debt. Thanks for the tuner feedback... was not completely happy with the look myself. The area could benefit from the cleaner look of wood between the tuners. That set of tuners is actually a combination of two sets. I had originally purchased a chrome set and the barrel keys to replace the stock chrome ones. The black set was intended for another build...the black and chrome look on the body led me to combine the two sets of tuners to make the installed version on the headstock.

Thanks, I loaned a "smart wood" Gibson Les Paul to a friend years ago that was stolen from his home. I never really got over that; so subconsciously I guess I associate stealing and my guitars. Would this build qualify  for a GOM entry or do the builds have to be more conventional?

That turned out awesome!
Love it.
And I love your tuner choice as well as your tuner button choice. I was going to order just the exact ones (but chrome) but they didn’t have enough SK1’s in stock (ie the buttons) so I have to wait for more to arrive before ordering.
And as far as UMP’s go, I won’t use anything else in the future.
Once you crack your roasted maple neck headstock when installing your tuners, you’ll curse yourself for not using UMP’s.
So I commend your choice.
Just saying ...

There are a few rules, shown in the entry threads, but yeah. That's a fine candidate.

Too unconventional? Not in the least. Take a look at the one in my signature line. I look forward to seeing you submit it.

That guitar is super sweet :headbang: The one you have entered for June is awesome...I would feel like i'de brought a moped to a drag race being judged against your entry.

I appreciate the compliment. Remember you are your own worst critic. There's a lot to be said for original ideas.

Its a good look for the tuners being made up of two sets.

No debt needed or necessary. I am just pleased to see a suggestion taken up and turn out so well.

I have to ask....

Regarding the Stetsbar, is it worth the asking price?  Seems a little steep, but does it give a wide range of up/down, is the feel linear, and most of all, does it stay in tune?  Seems very interesting.

So far I love the StetsBar. You get a full octave down but limited up. Yes the system is linear. The feel is very smooth and even pressure. The bar doesn’t ride on a post or wedge. The unit travels forward when you push down on the bar and will return to the starting position when you release the pressure. There are two sets of roller bearings under the unit that allows the system to move. I wanted a tremolo unit that would provide subtle tremolo like a Bigsby; without the tuning and string breaking headaches associated with the Bigsby. No modifications to the Tele body are needed to mount The StetsBar if you get the Tele model. The price difference between both units is about $50 to $75 depending on where you get the Bigsby. I think the cost difference is reasonable; but that’s just me. I would hate for someone to buy one and not like based on my word. The thing does stay in tune very well. You would have to shim your neck for string clearance. StetsBar has some killer installation videos on YouTube.
