Carved Top Tele - No longer available without cap?

I remember that you used to be able to get a carved top Tele without needing a cap, since they were carved down from a standard 1.75" blank. I checked the custom builder the other day and now you HAVE to pick a double lam cap.

Is it no longer an option to get a CT Tele without a cap? Or am I missing something?

The Carved Top Telecaster and Velocity body were recently brought into conformance with all the other Carved Top models. They are now only available through the custom builders with DL tops. You may still be able to order a single-piece carved top on those model by calling in, but I am not 100% certain on that.
