Fantastic instrument! Love that body, but damn, now I'm going to have to build one of them too! Oh well, can't have too many guitars.... :headbang:

That was my first thought too, "I need one exactly like that....."  :toothy12:

That Wenge headstock is amazing!

The whole neck base is wenge, so the headstock will naturally be wenge also...

I understand that, was just saying that the headstock in particular was fine-looking.  :occasion14:

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or does it appear that the neck pickup is situated further back than on other Regals? I like it way much better....

I would guess it's perspective.  The fretboard overhang seems to abut the pickup ring on the assembled guitar.  If you were to go with a 21-fret, 25.5" scale, vintage-style Strat neck, there might be a little breathing room.

Could well be. I was using the cutaway as a reference, it looks as though the pickup ring on this Regal has quite a bit more space than it would on that Goldtop.

I had the same thought about the pickup placement and wondered if Warmoth had shifted the position slightly as this is an issue that's been raised about the Regal. There doesn't seem to be any variation between the current showcase stock though, so I'd guess a combination of camera angle and the builder finessing the mount a little.

I've come to quite like the Regal shape and this example certainly hasn't put me off.

I believe the first ones, the neck pup was a bit to forward and the ring would over hang in the cut out, so makes sense to move it backwards...

Hey guys, here is the 411 on what you are seeing in these pictures: the neck pickup is in the same place it has always been. It's the shape of the cutaway that has changed. This was in response to issues some customers were having with pickup rings. The change has already been in place for some time...all custom-build orders for the last several months have been getting the new design.

In the showcase, we opted to let the old stock run out before switching over. If you have been wondering why so many cool Regal bodies were showing up in Screamin' Deals over the last few months, now you know. Grab one while you can! Once they are gone, we'll flood the showcase with all the new ones we have waiting in the wings.
