I'm thinking of trying one. Does anyone know if it's closer to Goncalo Alves (my favorite), or Roasted Maple? Strictly talking feel here, I'm not a tone wood guy.
Somewhere in between Goncalo and Mahogony; Much softer than Goncalo when processing the wood but offers some of those oily or waxy feels that you get from the Alves. I think it has a nice smell to it when cutting through the wood and when it gets branded at the heel. There are usually very neat color combinations within the grain as well.
