As to the hockey part, who the hell cares? As with all other sports, "Hockey Widows" are always more enjoyable than the sport itself and do not require purchase of expensive tickets.

As to Canada in general, y'all will never have any semblance of respect from myself until you round up all the verdammte Quebecois and ship them back to France on banana boats or whatever suitable transportation you might have up there, eh.

As another suitable alternative, you could put them all in a huge sack weighted with rocks/scrap metal like kittens and deposit them somewhere deep in the St. Lawrence River...

While I may agree with you in principle (I am not a fan of extremists of ANY kind), I actually know a lot of French people, and they are quite nice.  Being bilingual myself has opened a lot of doors.  There are indeed idiot Quebecois, just as there are idiots in every culture/country/religion/ethic group/whatever.  You cannot judge the majority by the outspoken (who are, unfortunately, usually the idiots).

And as far as hockey goes, my favorite team since birth is the Montreal Canadiens ... so I have more than a passive interest in the French culture.

And thats why we don't talk about "getting rid of quebec" because the people from the rest of Canada that say crap like that are on the same level as the separatists.  In any case, the last referendum was in '96 I believe, and I haven't heard much about it since then. and nobody even remembers the FLQ anymore.  Also.. I wish we had somebody as raccous and straight to the point as Trudeau was running the gov't.  I'm a conservative.. but Harper has been a real dickwad lately.
