Can you buy the paint Fender uses?

My new body is unfinished and I want to do my own custom paint job, maybe a competition stripe or something similar. I really like Fender’s Custom Shop colors so I was wondering if it’s possible to buy the same paint that they use on their guitars? If not, would car paint work just as well?

If you are into vintage fender colours, almost all of them were standard car colours of the day.  You can get them made up in nitro or acrylic at automotive parts shops that carry paint.

I have had NAPA mix up shell pink (dupont DUCO 2371) and daphne blue (Dupont DUCO 2804)  and put into a rattle can while I waited.
