I ordered my 7/8ths unfinished Alder body and forgot to talk to Warmoth about the bridge routing except to say I wanted the Tremolo route. I realized this after closing and by time I called at 9:00AM my body had gone to the shop already. The Tremolo I ordered is going to have 9.9mm inserts and my holes (for 9.5 inserts) will need to be widened a touch once I have mic'd the inserts. But that is all in the already decided how to proceed category.
What I'm interested in is about if the inserts should be installed before the finish or after? Currently the body only has a couple of thin coats of sealer. So my choices are:
Paint - drill - insert
Drill - insert - paint
Drill - paint - insert - i'm leaning towards this choice
