Body Finishes - Satin vs. Gloss

I searched on the Warmoth site and found some finish information, but no detail as to the exact process in detail. Specifically, what are the materials that go into a Satin finish vs. a Gloss finish. If I understand correctly, both have a similar process up until the final steps. So I am trying to understand things like Nitro finish, Lacquer, etc. My Fender has a Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish. My LP 58 RI has Nitrocellulose VOS (Vintage Patina). Can someone explain if either of these finishes are similar to Warmoth Gloss or Satin, or if not, what the differences are?
The reason I ask is I am interested in one of the on sale Satin bodies, but not sure how they will age.

Our satin body finishes are a poly satin. It's pretty hard, and will stay satin for a long time. It won't quickly polish to a semi-gloss the way our nitro satin neck finishes do.

I feel the poly satin chips a lot more easily than the poly gloss, but I'm also comparing W's gloss from 20 years ago to satin from a few months ago. As @aarontunes mentions in some videos, be sure to use a chamfering bit before drilling holes to minimize any finish chipping.

Aaron, thanks for also answering my question about satin between bodies and necks. Is there a reason W doesn't offer satin nitro for bodies? (I'd love a sonic blue Tele that gradually turns mint green)

Our process for bodies has always been poly from day one, and I don't see that ever changing. I have no idea why/when the decision was made to use nitro on the *satin* necks, but it's a little bit of an anomaly.
