Bluesy Tele bridge PU

I'm doing up my Tele project, and I'm torn on what pickup is going to go into the bridge. I've got my heart set on a Seymour Duncan vintage mini HB for the neck--that's a no brainer, but I'm torn on what should go in the bridge. I heard a sound sample of a Rio Grande Tallboy for a Strat on the Rio Grande website, and that sounded pretty ballsy. I also thought about doing a SD Quarter Pounder, but the sound samples of the Seymour Duncan pickups never told me a messload of information. Does anyone have any recommendation for a good blues/rock sounding pickup for a Tele?

Thanks Much!

I'm rather partial to the Fender 52ri pickup, its got the tele quack, but not the icepick in the ear

Sorry, I can't say from firsthand experience, but the quarter-pounders should sound really cool with a HB or mini HB. That's actually what I'm considering for a build. (I"m also going by sound samples from SD)

i have a couple of teles with the custom shop nocaster in the bridge i love them

Jeff at copperheadpickups.com makes an awesome tele bridge pickup! Man that thing can scream!! I have one in my tele custom.

I'm gonna play devi's advocate and say the amp is more imporant in getting blues tone than the pickup  :evil4:

Personally, though, I'd look for vague keywords in the pup description like "enhanced upper mids", "overwound", or "hot vintage".  I'll have to give a +1 to the QP + minibucker idea though.  Prolly be what I'd put in if I ever build a tele.

If you're looking for a vintage type sound, the RG Tallboy or Fender Custom Shop NoCaster; for a little hotter pickup, the RG Muy Grande

Look into the harmonic design vintage plus for tele.  It's a bit louder like a QP'er and has a bit more mids and lows.
perfect for blues and rock. Very touch sensitive too!

Rio Grande dirty Harrys are perfect for texas driven style blues. Maybe a Muy Grande better for cleaner sounds.
