Steve, I think you have a typo above. See 14th fret on G string being an E. probably should read D string.

All tuning on a guitar is a compromise to one degree or another.

Great that it worked out for you. No matter what the tuners say and how things are set up - if it doesn't sound right you're never going to be satisfied. If it sounds right, it is right.
