Best Masking tapes

I used some basic blue painters tape on a project recently that turned a nice shiney clear coat milky  It was Duplicolor Perfect match clear if it makes a difference.

Suggestions on whats best for use to stripe up a guitar?

Frogtape I find is a very good tape, I have a roll of delicate surface that I use from time to time.

There are also tapes sold for auto detailing work which may be worth a look. Sorry I am not familiar with US brands in that area.
