Hi everybody!

I am planning a new Telecaster with WCR SR Strat pickups (lower vintage output pickups).
Do you think a mahogany body will turn out great? I have heared with lower output pickups mahogany is not recommended...?  :icon_scratch:
Bridge PU will be a normal Tele pickup. What body wood should I choose? Is hollowing an option?

Thanks!
Stephan

Think it'll be ok, but I think you should go for P90 or Tele pickups... Strat pickups shall belong only to strats :p
Tele are supposed to be much more "ballsier" ;) Even with vintage output pickups

I'd actually choose lower output, which are generally a little brighter, pickups with mahogany.

Yes, either low output pickups (better treble detail than hot pups) or a higher output pickup with little bass and mids.

Mahogany = fat, thick tone and can get too muddy if you don't throw in some treble-enabling
stuff to the mix (low-output/trebley pickups, maple top, etc).

On 25.5" scale with a Bolt neck- I don't think the Mahogany will be muddy at all, fatter warmer but not muddy. You can get a more solid tone with a Maple neck, just adds rigidity and gives more definition to the'hog body but again fatter/warmer- even with Texas Specials or P90s don't think a guitar like this will be muddy .l
