Best $600 +/- Guitar?

Me either, I'm looking at the "Natural" finish mostly. Possibly red. I've never been much of a red guitar person, but 335's just look right in red.

I've been Google searching like crazy about these since yesterday trying to find reviews and opinions. Found only good stuff so far. Made in Korea, but look pretty damn nice. And they have a headstock thats almost identical to Gibson's. That's a major plus for me. A beautiful guitar with an ugly headstock is a deal breaker for me haha I guess I'm pretty picky.

I have an Ibanez As103 in natural flame, that's the top-end model of their range. $500 shipped to you. It goes for $900 new if you can find one.

sounds like a pretty good price! What condition is it in? How long have you had it?

It's a great price. I've had it since January. I just never bonded with it, as much as I like the idea of a semi and as much as this one has a great, great sound. I have all my personal bases covered without it. Pics here:

Flame is better than pics. It does have one wonky volume pot, I just realized, but I have a CTS spare pot in my drawer and will fix before selling.

Get a Jackson or a Shecter! :headbang1:

+1!  Not $600, but I picked up a Jackson JS32 Warrior ($400) and even though it's the lower-end Jackson, after a minor setup, it plays GREAT!  It sounds good, plays good, and is comfortable.

I've played a number of 2010+ JS Series Jacksons.  In fact, I've played a JS32 of every body style; Warrior, Kelly, Soloist, King V, and RR.  They've all been the same across the board in terms of quality.  I would put my Warrior up against any $600 guitar on the market, and do it with confidence.

Pros:

Looks
Great "Metal" tone
Flawless fretwork
Flawless finish
24 frets
"Licensed By Floyd" tremolo
Stays in tune, no matter how much I pull or push the tremolo
Low string action
Comfortable neck
Comfortable body
Price

Cons:

Shallow tremolo cavity, so forget about huge tremolo-pulling divebombs
Undeserved bad reputation for JS models (2010 showed MAJOR improvements)
Made in India
Crappy factory setup

go for the cheapest showcase finished body & neck that doesn't need a finish, guitar fetish hardware. rock it out.
+1  Or buy unfinished and do a simple wipe on varnish job (tru oil, etc.). My Tele build was not much more than $600 and has a quilt top and flame neck.
