Bending a football jack plate

I ordered my Jazz bass body with a 7/8" side jack and a football jack plate, however, the jack plate wasn't curved enough to fit the contour of the body. I considered trying to bend it to shape, but as it looked like it was die cast I didn't bother and sold it. I was going to get an electrosocket but I wouldn't then be able to use a bent jack plug. I might have to get another football one and try to bend it. Anyone had to do this themselves? Any recommendations for a different jack plate that would fit or be easy to bend?

I've straightened them - I just did this with a black one for my fenderbird bass.

I just used a vice, a rubber mallet, and I went slow.  For adding more curve, I think I would hammer it over a curved steel form.

I've had to do this too, to every single football jack I've ordered.

It's a pain in the ass for sure, and I think it should be noted on their site that it does require bending.
