The Wife cringes at those calls like one from the ER at 2AM  :glasses9:

My Helix floor processor is shipping today. I couldn't pass up the free finance deal. I only have a couple pedals so far; so rather than becoming a pedal junkie, I decided to bite the bullet. Not sure what I'll do for FRFR yet but I have headphones and can always run it through an amp for a while until I decide. This should be fun.

Congratulations! I've had my Helix for a few months now and I continue to be knocked out by it. I was a tube amp snob before discovering Helix and I haven't looked back, it's completely satisfying for me. For what it's worth the Atomic CLR is the first and only FRFR speaker I tried with it, but it gives me no reason to look any farther. Excellent combo.

Awesome! I got my Helix a few weeks after Verne, if i remember correctly. I agree with him, you will not be disappointed. I actually sold my Dual Rectifier and Marshall cab.. the only tube amp i have left is my Orange Dark Terror. I used to be a tube amp snob as well, and wouldn't even touch anything digital, but the helix blew me away. I'm using it solely in the studio for now, so i run it through my studio monitors, but I'm eventually going for the line 6 L2T or L3T for an FRFR.

Have fun with it!

Helix arrived, WOW. This is even cooler than I imagined. Haven't scratched the surface of capabilities (and it is much better than I am) but very impressed with the rock-solidness of it. Hooked it to a pair of JBL LSR 305's and it sounds very nice. Finally found something that gives nice tone at low volume after trying several different amp / attenuator combos. Possibilities seem endless. Need to have a yard sale now.... LOL

That has been happening a lot in recent years due to the dramatic increase in quality of modellers. No need to own a tractor/trailer to carry around all your gear anymore.

I've been trolling for a couple years too... they're certainly not dumping them. Way too much collecysteria about music gear. If I could find a real JCM800 for cheap enough I would. They're still about 3x my cheap enough price.

I'm still getting what I need from my HD500X, but I've drooled over the Helix a bit.

I'm in the same boat about a minimal setup now that I'm 50.  I don't miss those days in the 90's when I had to drag my $12k/20 space rack & two 4x12 cabs to each gig.

I have more processing power in this than I had in that big rack.  The only thing I really miss from the rack is my ADA MP1 & MP2, but more so out of nostalgia than anything.
