Bass bridge ground question

Firstly, what's the oval route in the pic? Second, does it have something to do with grounding?

I have a rear route 5-string-through-body P bass here and I'm looking for the ground route and not seeing it. Does Warmoth do them and I'm just missing it?

Its a recess for the ground wire. Is there a hole between it and the control cavity. It may have become obscured by paint.

Yeah I thought it probably was the ground---it's either undrilled or plugged up. Guess I'll get my pokn' stick

Ohhh I see what's up now. I missed the hole initially when i copper taped the control cavity. And I didn't even notice the little side hole in the recess. So what's the center hole for? It doesn't seem to lead anywhere. Maybe it was just a pilot hole for the oval recess route?

Possibly an indexing point for the CNC. If you look at a short scale body it is in a different place than the grounding recess.
