Think I need a set of these for a strat build i have on order with routs for bridge and neck HBs.  Need to know the proper spec options for Warmoth Strat HB cavities:

1. Would "bridge spacing" be 50mm or 53mm?

2. Would proper "leg length" be long (1/2") or short (1/4")?

Other options I'm thinking:

Conductor - Braided 2
Pole Screws - Gold Bolts
Cover Type - Standard
Cover Finish - Black
Bridge Magnet - Alnico V

Pickup Rings - 6 String Humbucker (pair) - Flat
Jensen BKP 0.022μfd capacitor (bridge)
Jensen BKP 0.015μfd capacitor (neck)

I looked at your link to your build.

If you are getting the Gotoh VS100 Wilkinson Bridge from Warmoth, they say on their website the string spread is 54mm. The 53mm is so close it won't matter on the Warpigs pickup.

On the question of leg length, Warmoth's site says they rout humbucker routs to a depth of 3/4". I'd say contact Bare Knuckle & tell them how you intend to mount their pickup and see what they say?

The short versus long leg is answered here.

I suppose it also depends if you are wood mounting or using mounting rings etc.

On the question of leg length I would ask Bare Knuckles what length is recommended for a Strat & tell them how you intend to mount the pickups (under a pickguard, wood mounted, ring mounted?)

Right, 53mm is what I had thought was right.  And I was thinking on the leg mounts, since they will be ring mounted, the short (1/4") should be fine.  I think.  Anyone know for sure?

That was a quick reply! You quoted my original reply before I edited it. I looked at Stratamania's reply and yes that FAQ from BK does say short leg OK for Strats. But maybe that's assumed for a pickguard mounting as in standard Strats? Maybe email them & ask for confirmation before ordering....you are ring mounting those humbuckers .

I just ordered a set of humbucker sized P-90s from bareknuckle for my VIP build. They told me to go with the short legs. They are supper helpful and quick to respond.  I think they make darn good pickups too!

Yes indeed.  It'll be a chunky metal machine.  Seems like the hot pickups should go well with spalted maple on swamp ash, with solid canary neck.  Gold and black hardware mixed with all that orangey-yellow woodgrain and black binding should make for a very nice look as well.  Man this is fun.  :glasses9:

Incidentally, these pickups are the shyte.  I love them.  They sound awesome clean, and of course when you add some OD/Fuzz, you can get that Black Sabbath "War Pigs" sound.  Yes indeed.  Generals gathered in their masses...

OH HELL YES:
