Assembling something wicked

Here is my wenge/padouk body mated with a wenge neck with an ebony fingerboard.  I don't have a name for the guitar yet, but it is wicked!

Sometimes I still have twinges about putting the warmoth headstock on my Whopper Jr (BK, but hollow) strat.  Especially when I see it in Wenge/Ebony.  But then I remember the tiltback.

I dunno - the Warmoth head just does not do it for me on a strat.  To me, a strat needs a strat headstock (but not that big porno CBS one).  IMHO

Did you ever consider getting one of these?  This is in the showcase for $215:

Every time I talk myself into thinking I could live with inlays because of some showcase piece, I remember oh yeah - I wanted a thicker neck too! Wait that is a fatback.... But it's 25.5" Man oh man - gave up rear routed because of a showcase temptation. Could I live with myself putting a dotneck fender scale on this guitar? Arrgh, torment. I hope you suffer for this one.

That neck Wenge neck looks beautiful. It doesn't require a finish, does it? What does it feel like?

No, it doesn't require a finish. I don't know what it feels like as a neck, but I do know it's a very hard and open-grained wood - harder than maple or oak, for example, so it's gonna feel pretty fast.

It's very smooth and tactile, slick but not slippery.  This is going to sound weird but it feels like fine dark chocolate would if it did not melt in your hand.  :icon_scratch:

Take some #0000 steel wool and work over the back of the neck, it's awesome... :headbang:

I have no basis for evaluating the Babicz bridge, except visually - and the logo is tremendously distracting.  BUt overall, the gold-on-wenge theme is awesome.

I agree, the bridge looks real good, but why did BabicZ assume people wanted to advertise for them? :icon_scratch:  Could't they just given you a free sticker, those bastages.
